Who We Are

ANPRAS is a platform for research and advocacy in sustainability issues,especially (but not exclusively) in the fields of agriculture, education, environment, energy, infrastructure and tourism.

ANPRAS was jointly founded by Mr. G.Raj Chintaram , Dr N. Oliver and Ms Gaitree GVB on 26th June 2008 in an endeavour to establish a credible platform for policy and research on sustainable development  at the level of African continent.

Mission & Vision

  • Advocate policies for sustainable development and promote the concept of sustainable living through publications, media and other means;
  • Encourage policy research in the fields  of Agriculture, Education, Environment, Infrastructure, Energy and Tourism;
  • Disseminate knowledge, ideas and experience with national and international authorities;
  • Produce academic and research publications like journals and books on sustainability issues;
  • Propagate initiatives for sustainable development at grassroots level , especially through community empowerment initiatives;
  • provide assistance and project consultancy services on sustainability issues for small islands and other developing states;
  • Serve as a national and  international platform for experts in various fields of sustainability.

 The 1st Volume of The Journal for Sustainability Issues in Africa ( JSIA) is expected to be released in 2011

Organisational Structure

ANPRAS is voluntarily headquartered at Midlands (Mauritius) and is built around an executive Bureau with a pool of academics and consultants on various sustainability issues.
