Monique CHELIN

Monique is a Sustainability Manager with vast experience in the construction and mining industries, local government (planning and infrastructure provision), corporate advisory services, green buildings and sustainability assessment and due diligence review.  Current responsibilities cover all aspects of sustainability, safety and health and environment management implementation for multiple property developments within Nakheel, Dubai.  The largest of these is a masterplanned community for 400,000 residents, including 900 third party developers.

In previous consulting roles, Monique has been responsible for coordinating and managing the sustainability aspects for organisations responsible for the delivery of multi-billion dollar infrastructure and land development projects in the commercial, public and government sectors.  Experienced with managing teams of consultants and contractors, client relationships, OH&S, budgets, costing and deadlines. 

Monique was responsible for establishing GHD’s Queensland Sustainability Team.  As a Project Director she was responsible for innovative project solutions in corporate sustainability and climate change advisory services, greenhouse management strategies, due diligence reviews, application of Equator Principles and IFC guidelines, sustainability assessment, management system implementation and change management. 

Monique is also a Lead Verifier for Environmental Compliance, Environmental Management Systems, and the Australian Federal and New South Wales Greenhouse Gas Schemes, as well as an Accredited Life Cycle Assessment Professional.  Monique has also been a guest lecturer at Griffith University, Australia on topics related to environmental sustainability and management.
